Amy Winehouse’s Landmark Album Is Getting the Archive Treatment

Bob Dylan once called Amy Winehouse “the last real individualist around.” Twenty years after Back to Black first landed, it is still difficult to argue with him.
Now, miss Amy’s defining album is getting a proper anniversary excavation. Back to Black 20 arrives October 23, 2026 in deluxe 3CD, 3LP and digital editions, with the original studio album joined by previously unreleased demos, rare B-sides, bonus material and a major live archive release.

BACK TO BLACK, TWENTY YEARS DEEP
Unreleased demos, rare B-sides and a full 2007 Amsterdam performance make this much more than a simple anniversary repress.

The deluxe 3CD edition includes four unreleased demos alongside B-sides, alternate versions and bonus tracks. Disc three gives fans the full Paradiso, Amsterdam performance from February 8, 2007 — a 14-song set from the Back to Black tour that has never previously been released in full on CD.
The archive treatment goes beyond the audio. The anniversary edition comes with new alternative cover artwork, Amy’s handwritten lyrics, never-before-seen photographs by original album photographers Mischa Richter and Alex Lake, plus new liner notes from Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi.

Ronson reflects on the fact that six songs made during one intensely creative stretch could still mean so much to listeners two decades later, while Remi describes Amy as genuinely one of one — an artist, spirit and soul without a duplicate.
The full 3CD tracklist pulls together the familiar era without pretending the original album needs improving: “Rehab,” “You Know I’m No Good,” “Back to Black,” “Love Is a Losing Game,” “Tears Dry on Their Own” and the rest of the studio record remain the center of gravity. The extras simply open a few more doors into how that world was built.
Among the expanded material are alternate and demo versions of songs including “Rehab,” “You Know I’m No Good,” “Me & Mr Jones,” “Just Friends,” “Back to Black,” “Love Is a Losing Game” and “Tears Dry on Their Own.” The Paradiso disc closes the package with Amy in performance, right in the middle of the era that would turn her into a once-in-a-generation figure.
Before the anniversary edition arrives, dig into the rarer side of Amy below — stripped of mythology, gossip and everything that too often got placed in front of the actual musician.
