So dropping him into West Texas oil drama-rama feels less like a gamble and more like somebody knowing exactly what they are doing.

Paramount+ confirms Kelly will play William Crockett, described as the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world. The official character description calls him a titan of industry whose entire presence exudes efficiency and money.
Which, translated into Landman language, sounds like exactly the kind of man who could walk into a room with Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris and immediately make the temperature go up ten degrees.
Kelly is already part of Sheridan’s television orbit as Byron Westfield on Lioness, making his move to Landman another bit of connective tissue across the creator’s ever-expanding roster of shows.
The returning Landman ensemble includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter and Sam Elliott, alongside Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore. Paramount+ has not yet announced a Season 3 premiere date.
So no, we are not marking the calendar just yet. But Michael Kelly walking into this particular oil field? That part is officially worth watching.
