Released September 17, “gloria!” is her first new song following this year’s debut album, the apple tree under the sea. The song comes with an official music video directed by Jackie! Zhou and shot in the Mojave desert, giving this latest chapter exactly the kind of wonderfully off-center visual world you’d expect from her.
The song itself comes from a pretty simple but necessary idea: keep going. hemlocke described “gloria!” as a reminder that life will keep throwing personal and global chaos our way, but the point is getting back up every time. In her own framing: grab your sword and GO.
