hemlocke springs is the stage name of American singer-songwriter and producer Isimeme Udu. Raised in North Carolina, she began releasing self-produced songs in 2022 while pursuing graduate studies and quickly broke through with the viral synth-pop track “girlfriend.” Her 2023 project going...going...GONE! introduced a deliberately quirky mix of new wave, bedroom pop and off-kilter vocals, while 2026’s full-length the apple tree under the sea expanded that world into a more ambitious pop statement without sanding away its eccentric personality.
