This Is The Kind Of Anniversary Edition Amy Winehouse Deserves

We could not be more ecstatic for Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black 20th-anniversary deluxe edition, arriving October 23, 2026 — just days before the landmark album officially turns 20.

And thankfully, this is not one of those anniversary packages where somebody changes the vinyl color, adds a postcard and calls it history. Back to Black 20 is digging properly into the era with unreleased demos, rare B-sides, bonus material and a full live performance that has never before been issued complete on vinyl or CD.

Four Unreleased Demos Are Only The Beginning

The deluxe 3LP and 3CD editions bring together the original studio album with four previously unreleased demos, rare B-sides, additional demos and bonus tracks from the Back to Black era.

For an album that has been reissued before, that matters. The point of a 20th-anniversary edition should be to open the archive a little wider — to give longtime listeners something they genuinely have not heard while still presenting the original record with the respect it deserves.

Amy’s 2007 Paradiso Show Is Finally Getting A Full Release

The third disc is where things get especially delicious for us: Winehouse’s performance at Paradiso in Amsterdam on February 8, 2007, recorded during the Back to Black tour, is being released in full as part of the set.

For fans who have spent years living on scattered live clips, broadcasts and partial releases, getting an entire 2007 Amy Winehouse show in one place is exactly the kind of archival move that makes an anniversary edition feel essential instead of decorative.

The Physical Package Is Going Deep Into The Original Era Too

The new editions also feature alternative cover artwork, an image from Mark Ronson’s archive showing Amy’s handwritten lyrics, and never-before-seen photographs by Mischa Richter and Alex Lake, the photographers associated with the original album era.

There are also new liner notes from Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, the two producers whose work helped shape the sound of Back to Black. That is the kind of context we want in a deluxe edition: the music, the images, the people who were actually there, and enough unseen material to make opening the package feel like entering the era again.

Twenty Years Later, Back to Black Still Sounds Almost Untouchable

Originally released in the U.K. on October 27, 2006, Back to Black became the album that pushed Winehouse from acclaimed singer-songwriter into a global phenomenon. “Rehab,” “You Know I’m No Good,” “Love Is a Losing Game,” “Tears Dry on Their Own” and that devastating title track made the record feel immediate then — and somehow still immediate now.

That is why we are so happy this anniversary is being treated as more than a nostalgia exercise. Amy’s catalog does not need gimmicks. Give us the tapes, the photographs, the handwriting, the performances and the people who helped make the record. That is enough.
