From Dolly to Duran Duran, This Class Is Stacked

Now this is a class. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled its 2022 inductees, bringing together an unusually wide sweep of pop, rock, country, hip-hop, new wave, R&B and heavy metal history.
The Performer category includes Dolly Parton, Eminem, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, Eurythmics and Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo.

Elsewhere, Judas Priest and songwriting-production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis will receive the Musical Excellence Award, while Harry Belafonte and Elizabeth Cotten are being honored for Musical Influence.
The Ahmet Ertegun Award goes to music-industry figures Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine and Sylvia Robinson.
And yes, Dolly Parton is officially in. Earlier in the nomination cycle, Dolly said she wanted to bow out because she did not feel she had earned the right to be considered a rock artist. After learning that the ballot process was already underway — and reconsidering what the Hall represents — she said she would accept if elected.
The 37th annual induction ceremony is set for November 5, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. For INYIM, the lineup is almost suspiciously tailored: Dolly, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Pat Benatar, Carly Simon, Lionel Richie and a side of Judas Priest? Mighty indeed.
