Brand “Paulv &French fashion house Paul & Joe unveils its latest collection, “Tokyo Velvet,” a lush blend of Parisian elegance and Japanese street-style precision. The line channels the brand’s signature romantic tailoring while embracing the bold textures and silhouettes inspired by Tokyo’s eclectic fashion districts.
Unfolding like a cinematic love letter between two style capitals, “Tokyo Velvet” leans into tactile richness—think plush velvets, structured layering, and playful prints that nod to both vintage French couture and Harajuku flair. The collection features a palette of deep jewel tones, soft neutrals, and pops of electric blue, with standout pieces including oversized velvet blazers, kimono-inspired coats, and wide-leg trousers with origami pleats.
Creative director Sophie Mechaly continues to evolve the Paul & Joe aesthetic, this time drawing on her personal admiration for Japanese culture and its fearless approach to fashion. “There’s a freedom in Tokyo style that’s endlessly inspiring,” she shared in a recent interview. “It’s about individuality, but also about harmony.”
The campaign imagery, shot by photographer Takashi Homma, captures the collection in motion across Tokyo’s Shibuya and Ginza neighborhoods, blending urban grit with soft-focus glamour. Styling is minimal but expressive, letting the textures and silhouettes speak for themselves.
