Jay-Z came out and spoke a few words that layed only the truth in regards to the re-imagined ‘We Are The World’ that premiered at the Olympic opening ceremonies. Jay said that while he applauded raising money for relief efforts, some music should stay “untouchable.”

“I know everybody is gonna take this wrong: ‘We Are the World,’ I love it, and I understand the point and think it’s great. But I think ‘We Are the World’ is like [Michael Jackson’s] ‘Thriller’ to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched.”

Even though Jay-Z thought his opinion would be unpopular, it turns out that The Washington, The New York Times, and others(including myself) agree! Jay-Z was at least a little more constructive. The enterprising superstar suggested producer Quincy Jones could have written a new song specific to the tragedy.
