Britney brought Circus-era chaos into her Glory victory lap
Ring thee pop-anniversary bell. Zephyring 10 years, we’re back with Britney Spears performing “If U Seek Amy” live in London at the 2016 Apple Music Festival — a wonderfully unhinged little bridge between the Circus era and the Glory era she was actively promoting at the time.
Britney’s ninth studio album, Glory, arrived on August 26, 2016, making 2026 its decade-long milestone. Barely a month after that release, Spears took over London’s Roundhouse on September 27, 2016 for Apple Music Festival 10, her first U.K. show in five years.

And because Britney was in full non-stop promo mode, she did not treat the night like a one-album showcase. The set reached backward through her catalog, pulling in earlier smashes alongside newer Glory material.
That included “If U Seek Amy,” the Max Martin-produced Circus single that remains one of Britney’s cheekiest radio Trojan horses. Seven years after its 2009 single run, she brought Amy back out for London with the kind of theatrical pop staging that made this period so much fun to revisit.

Apple’s 10th-anniversary festival ran for 10 nights at the Roundhouse, with Britney sharing the lineup with Elton John, Alicia Keys, Calvin Harris, Robbie Williams, The 1975, Bastille, Michael Bublé, OneRepublic and Chance the Rapper.
Britney’s set stretched across the hits: “Work Bitch,” “Womanizer,” “Piece of Me,” “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “Gimme More,” “Toxic,” “Stronger” and more. In the middle of all that catalog firepower sat “If U Seek Amy,” still sounding like the troublemaker it always was.

Presented through RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, the performance survives as one of those perfect little time capsules: Britney in her Glory campaign, an older Circus favorite back in rotation, and London getting a full dose of Miss Spears doing what Miss Spears does.
