It’s Madonna’s Summer 2026 Interview Magazine cover moment, and naturally, the Queen of Pop did not arrive quietly.

Shot by Nadia Lee Cohen and styled by Mel Ottenberg, the new cover story finds Madonna transforming into Dee Dee, a vivacious, hard-living character with big hair, endless prosecco energy and rock-and-roll turned all the way up.

Interview notes that this marks Madonna’s eleventh time on the magazine’s cover, more than any other star in its history. Which, honestly, sounds about right. If anyone was built to keep returning to the house Warhol built and still make the room feel newly scandalized, it is Madonna.

MADONNA, INTERVIEW, CONFESSIONS II
The Queen of Pop returns to Interview.

Madonna talks faith, cinema, music, family, hot guys and the coming Confessions sequel in her Summer 2026 cover story.

The shoot happened late at night outside London, with Madonna fully committing to Dee Dee’s messy-glam world. The next afternoon, Ottenberg visited her London home after an early listen to Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II for a 90-minute conversation that moved through faith, cinema, making music, nutritional yeast, family and, yes, hot guys.

The cover story also catches Madonna in a very Madonna place: looking backward, pushing forward and refusing to become a museum piece of herself. She talks about reconnecting with producer Stuart Price, moving through grief and family trauma, and finding her way back to the dance floor as a place of survival.

That is why this one feels like more than a cover. It is a character study, a fashion fantasy, a music tease and a reminder that Madonna still knows how to turn a magazine spread into an event.

Dee Dee may be brand new, but the instinct is classic M: build a world, name the woman inside it, light a cigarette in the imagination and make everyone else catch up.
