The expanded tournament brings together 48 national teams for a record 104 matches staged across 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Mexico receives the honor of opening the tournament inside Mexico City Stadium before the action moves across all three host countries and eventually reaches the World Cup Final on July 19.

The 2026 tournament is the first men’s World Cup jointly hosted by three nations.
Matches will move through stadiums across the United States, Mexico and Canada, with host cities including Los Angeles, Mexico City, Toronto, Vancouver, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Guadalajara, Monterrey and the New York–New Jersey area.
The expanded format also introduces a new Round of 32 before the traditional Round of 16, creating 40 more matches than the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
Canada begins its tournament on Friday in Toronto, while the United States starts its campaign Friday night against Paraguay here in Los Angeles.
