It is finally here! The FIFA World Cup 2026 officially kicks off today, Thursday, June 11, beginning more than five weeks of global football action across North America.

The expanded tournament brings together 48 national teams for a record 104 matches staged across 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Mexico receives the honor of opening the tournament inside Mexico City Stadium before the action moves across all three host countries and eventually reaches the World Cup Final on July 19.

Whether you call it football or soccer on this side of the globe, here is how to watch the entire FIFA World Cup 2026 live in the United States.

Opening day belongs entirely to Group A, beginning in Mexico City before the tournament continues later tonight from Guadalajara.

The opening match brings Mexico and South Africa back together after the two nations also met in the first game of the 2010 World Cup.

This time, Mexico enters as one of three host nations and begins its campaign in front of a home crowd inside one of football’s most historic stadiums.

Later tonight, Korea Republic and Czechia complete the first day of Group A competition from Guadalajara.

How to watch every World Cup match in the U.S.

English-language television: All 104 matches will air across FOX and FS1. FOX carries 70 games, while FS1 carries the remaining 34.

English-language streaming: FOX One carries every match live and on demand, including 4K streams. The opening Mexico–South Africa match is also streaming free on Tubi. Viewers with participating television providers can use FOX Sports digital platforms.

Spanish-language television: Telemundo and Universo provide the complete Spanish-language presentation across their television networks.

Spanish-language streaming: Peacock carries all 104 matches live in Spanish from the opening whistle through the July 19 final.

The 2026 tournament is the first men’s World Cup jointly hosted by three nations.

Matches will move through stadiums across the United States, Mexico and Canada, with host cities including Los Angeles, Mexico City, Toronto, Vancouver, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Guadalajara, Monterrey and the New York–New Jersey area.

The expanded format also introduces a new Round of 32 before the traditional Round of 16, creating 40 more matches than the 2022 tournament in Qatar.

Canada begins its tournament on Friday in Toronto, while the United States starts its campaign Friday night against Paraguay here in Los Angeles.
