Present-Day Development: Snoopy just got even cooler for Macy’s big 100.

Present-Day Development: Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is unveiling a brand sparkling fresh new Snoopy balloon — and this time, the beagle is going full Joe Cool.
For the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 26, 2026, Snoopy will fly as his sunglasses-wearing campus alter ego for the very first time, with Woodstock riding along. That makes this one of the centennial parade’s freshest character updates while still pulling from one of the event’s most familiar faces.

Snoopy has been part of the Macy’s parade story since 1967, cycling through everything from astronaut and ice-skater looks to Beagle Scout duty. But 2026 marks the first time the balloon lineup gets the full Joe Cool treatment. According to Macy’s, the oversized shades are 40 times larger than a standard pair, and the doghouse would need to stand about 45 feet high to fit him at this scale.
And because the 100th parade is not playing small, Joe Cool and Woodstock arrive as part of a milestone lineup that Macy’s says will include 100 inflatable elements across the centennial celebration. The parade itself airs live from New York City on Thursday, November 26, with NBC and Peacock carrying the broadcast.
Frankly, Joe Cool in giant-balloon form feels overdue. Sunglasses on, Woodstock beside him, zero concern about the altitude. Very Snoopy. Very Macy’s. Very 100th parade.
