Now for all the numbnuts and murmurs. This strange warped ideology that living legends. This particular pioneer and innovator we are dealing with at hand. Someone at this status and caliber of her incomparable career.
Should be only a blessing and miracle to everyone on the planet that she rises everyday with the desire and passion to still do it! This is a woman who was literally told in her beginning days in the ’50s she could only use the backdoor. And in 2026 there are tree monsters who have the audacity to even write up a negative review based on Patti’s performance etiquette and vocal nuances.
Patti LaBelle did what Patti does and always will. Sing it in her own stylings and manners. Let’s also not forget Diana Ross infamously stole her looks from the 1960s. That which has been confirmed and moved on from. But the point of the matter is.
We live in a nation we’re instead of shining a light for all the unsung and censored. Telling the stories of greatness. Artists like Patti are judged. Especially by those that have no creativity. Or have even come close to inventing or conceptualizing anything original in their lifetime. It just truly shows how much and so much the public ask of certain performers. Regardless of the age, resume and blood sweat and tears that a LaBelle has experienced! Now is it because she’s a black woman who is always faced with double standards in the world. Because a Joni Mitchell can be up on stage half baked and brained. Yet it’s unquestionably revered. However on the not so greener side.
Now granted we love them all and only want to continue see them thrive in the spotlight.
