A Giant Dachshund Is Quietly Breathing Inside Seoul’s Haus Nowhere
Today’s Monday Muse lands in Seoul with Sunshine, the oversized animatronic dachshund stretched out inside Haus Nowhere Seoul in Seongsu. It does not just sit there looking enormous: its body rises and falls like it is breathing, with subtle ear and nose movements pushing the whole thing from sculpture into oddly convincing creature territory.
Haus Nowhere is part of IICOMBINED’s future-retail idea, blending fashion, fragrance, food, technology and large-scale installation work under one roof. The Seoul location opened in September 2025 and also serves as headquarters for IICOMBINED, the parent company behind Gentle Monster.
Sunshine is tied to TAMBURINS’ Sunshine fragrance, inspired by a dog dozing in warm afternoon light. The result is exactly the kind of retail spectacle we can get behind: weird, oversized, slightly surreal and somehow still sleepy.
The broader HAUS concept dates back to 2021, when Gentle Monster began pushing retail away from the usual store formula and toward spaces built around experimentation, art and experience. Haus Nowhere carries that idea forward on a much bigger canvas.
