BIMONI Wants Men’s Underwear to Leave the Bedroom

BIMONI is taking men’s underwear after dark. The Munich-based label is building a wardrobe around second-skin bodysuits, low-rise underwear, jockstraps, fitted sportswear and modern swimwear — all with considerably less interest in hiding underneath anything.

The point is not simply to make underwear skimpier. BIMONI’s visual language sits somewhere between lingerie, clubwear, sportswear and everyday menswear, using close fits, sheer fabrics and lower-rise cuts to make traditional underwear silhouettes feel more deliberately styled.

At the more expressive end are BIMONI’s men’s bodysuits. The brand works with sheer mesh, deeper necklines, athletic singlet shapes and close-to-the-body construction, pushing the bodysuit away from novelty territory and toward something that can actually function as partywear or clubwear.

Styled with trousers, leather, jewelry or simply allowed to stand on its own, the pieces fit neatly into the current menswear mood where underwear, nightlife and outerwear increasingly overlap.

The same philosophy runs through the label’s low-rise briefs, trunks and jockstraps. BIMONI uses mesh, soft fabrics and body-conscious cuts to keep the silhouette clean and contemporary, while fitted tanks and sportswear carry some of that gym-influenced energy into the rest of the wardrobe.

And BIMONI is not abandoning the classics either. Alongside the more provocative pieces are boxer shorts and boxer briefs made in cotton, lyocell, viscose and other softer fabrics — a quieter counterpoint to the label’s more after-dark ideas.

The collection moves between body-conscious statement pieces and updated everyday underwear.

For warmer weather, the same approach carries into swimwear: shorter proportions, low-rise briefs and close-fitting silhouettes aimed at men who want something beyond conventional board shorts. The result feels as comfortable in a beach club setting as it does beside the actual water.

What ties the whole thing together is BIMONI’s refusal to treat underwear as one isolated category. Sportswear, swimwear, partywear and basics all speak the same language here — close to the body, confidently cut and very much aware that sometimes the underwear is the outfit.
