Jimmy Jam is an American musician, songwriter and producer from Minneapolis whose partnership with Terry Lewis helped define the sound of modern R&B and pop. He first emerged as a keyboardist with Flyte Tyme and The Time before he and Lewis built one of music’s most successful production teams. Their work with Janet Jackson, the S.O.S. Band, Human League, Boyz II Men, Usher and many others combined electronic rhythm with strong songwriting. Jam & Lewis also stepped forward as recording artists with their 2021 album Jam & Lewis, Volume One.
