Jack Black is an American singer, songwriter and actor whose music career is anchored by the Grammy-winning comedy-rock duo Tenacious D with Kyle Gass. Formed in Los Angeles in 1994, Tenacious D built a genuine recording and touring career across albums including Tenacious D, The Pick of Destiny and Rize of the Fenix, with Black serving as lead vocalist and co-writer. He has also recorded music under his own name for film and independent releases, including the viral “Peaches,” making his musicianship substantially more than incidental soundtrack singing.
