Grace Jones

Grace Jones is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, model and actress whose music career began with the disco albums Portfolio (1977), Fame (1978) and Muse (1979). Born in Spanish Town and raised partly in Syracuse, New York, she later reshaped her sound through the post-disco, reggae, funk and New Wave records Warm Leatherette (1980), Nightclubbing (1981) and Living My Life (1982), made with Island Records and the Compass Point All Stars. Her catalog includes “Pull Up to the Bumper,” “My Jamaican Guy” and “Slave to the Rhythm,” while Hurricane (2008) remains her latest studio album of original material. Jones has also acted in films including Conan the Destroyer, A View to a Kill and Boomerang.
