Billy Corgan is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer best known as the frontman and principal songwriter of The Smashing Pumpkins. Emerging from Chicago’s alternative-rock scene in the late 1980s, he helped create landmark albums including Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Outside the Pumpkins he led Zwan and released solo records including TheFutureEmbrace, Ogilala and Cotillions. His writing ranges from dense guitar rock and psychedelia to electronic experiments and acoustic material.
