Angela Bassett Goes “All Access” With Linsey Davis for a Career-Spanning Conversation

Angela Bassett Goes All Access and Reflects on the Road Here

Thespian queen of film and TV, Angela Bassett, is going All Access with Linsey Davis.

One of the greatest actresses of her generation stops to chit chatter with ABC News journalist and host Linsey Davis for a conversation about perseverance, where she is now, and the memorable milestones that helped mold that illustrious résumé.

And with Bassett, perseverance is not some tidy little talking point. Her career has stretched across decades of film and television while the industry around her kept changing — and not always fast enough. She has built the kind of résumé where the performances do the explaining: What’s Love Got to Do with It, Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, American Horror Story, Black Panther, 9-1-1 and plenty more.

A Career Built on Staying Power

ABC frames the conversation around perseverance, current projects and the defining moments that shaped her career, which is pretty much the perfect lane for Bassett. The woman has spent decades making excellence look deceptively easy while moving between prestige drama, blockbuster franchises, television and stage work without ever becoming predictable.

All Access with Linsey Davis is ABC News Live’s half-hour interview franchise, built around candid sit-downs with actors, musicians and other major cultural figures. Davis gives her guests enough room to actually talk, which means this one lands less like a promotional stop and more like a proper career conversation.

The special premiered on September 28, 2026 on ABC News Live, with Bassett getting the kind of long-form space a career like hers deserves.
