Theo James Puts Church’s Polished Shoes In The Fast Lane

Church’s has handed brand ambassador Theo James the keys to a vintage motorsport fantasy for its Fall/Winter 2026 campaign—and naturally, every pit stop comes with immaculate footwear.
Photographed by Samuel Bradley under the creative direction of David James, the campaign moves the British actor from the manor-house eccentricity of previous seasons to Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex.
Vintage cars, the pit lane, the starting grid and a champagne podium finish give Church’s traditional English shoemaking a faster setting. Theo remains the same charmingly offbeat gentleman—he has simply taken the polished act on the road.

The campaign builds its story around Church’s New Formal wardrobe, a group designed to loosen the old rules around polished shoes. Oxfords, Derbies, Chelsea boots and penny loafers remain unmistakably refined, but the styling treats them as flexible everyday pieces rather than footwear reserved for ceremonial entrances.
Theo begins in the pit lane wearing the Sidley boot in soft-grain tan leather. He later switches into the Sidbury suede Derby while attempting to push-start a vintage Aston Martin—because apparently even a stalled classic looks better when the footwear is correct.
An unplanned trackside picnic introduces the Skipton Oxford, while the Stanhope Chelsea boot arrives on the starting grid. The Farsley penny loafer follows Theo across the circuit, accompanied at one point by Betty, a Great Dane who clearly understands scene-stealing.
That mix of formal construction and lightly ridiculous circumstance gives the campaign its charm. Church’s never makes the shoes the punchline; instead, the humor proves they can move beyond rigid dress codes without losing their craftsmanship or character.
The relaxed tailoring helps complete the shift. Soft finishes, understated silhouettes and vintage-racing references keep every look polished, but nobody appears trapped inside their clothes. Theo can stroll, picnic, push a car and reach the podium without changing into something less elegant.

By the time Theo reaches the podium and the champagne begins flying, the campaign has made its case: traditional English shoes do not need a stiff room or a strict invitation. Sometimes they only need good tailoring, an old race car and a handsome actor behaving like the circuit belongs to him.
