A Spoonful of Whimsy: one banana, one monkey, one very patient Nandi
A Spoonful of Whimsy: During traffic, a curious monkey was spotted sitting beside a white stone statue of Nandi, the sacred bull associated with the Hindu god Shiva.
Holding a banana in its warm fuzzy hands, the monkey repeatedly tried to offer it to the stone bull — a tiny roadside moment that somehow managed to stop the rush around it for a second.

The clip shows the monkey peeling the banana and trying more than once to feed Nandi before eventually eating it itself. Reports covering the video place the statue at a roadside intersection, with cars and people continuing past while the monkey stays focused on its very one-sided act of sharing.
Nandi is much more than a decorative bull figure. In Hindu tradition, Nandi is Shiva’s vahana, or mount, and is also revered as one of Shiva’s most devoted companions. Stone Nandi figures are commonly positioned at Shiva temples facing the main shrine, which makes the monkey’s little offering feel even more visually striking whether or not the animal had any idea what it was looking at.
Several outlets described the footage as genuine CCTV-style video rather than an AI-generated clip, though the exact original recording source and location have not been independently confirmed by INYIM. What is clear in the circulating footage is simple enough: monkey, banana, stone bull, repeated offering. Sometimes that is all a moment needs.
