Chaka Khan Pairs Pure Encouragement With Enduring Devotion on Tuesday
It’s a Chaka Khan double feature for Tuesday’s Come Thru Vocals: “I Know You Can” and “Now and Forever.” One sounds a note of encouragement; the other turns to the enduring promise suggested by its title. Together they give the Queen of Funk two different emotional angles on Chakzilla.
Two tracks. Two discoveries. One daily detour.
Come Thru Vocals is INYIM’s long-running daily music discovery series spotlighting voices and songs worth hearing. Selections may also move into Musique Dig’s Weekly Playlist and rotation on INYIM Radio.

Tune: I Know You Can
WHY IT CAUGHT OUR EAR
The title alone makes a promise, but Chaka’s presence is what gives “I Know You Can” its weight. She has never needed to oversell conviction: that familiar authority makes an encouraging message feel earned, not merely decorative. A welcome shot of self-belief to put some momentum into the week.
Chaka Khan
Tune: Now and Forever
WHY IT CAUGHT OUR EAR
“Now and Forever” shifts the mood from Tuesday’s first track’s encouragement to the idea of something lasting. The title invites a more reflective listen, with Chaka’s unmistakable vocal personality keeping the focus on feeling rather than flash. Two selections, one artist, and a reminder of the range that has made her such a lasting presence in music.
Come back for the next daily detour. Keep discovering in the Come Thru Vocals archive, hear the week’s six strongest finds in Musique Dig’s Weekly Playlist, and keep the music moving on INYIM Radio.
