Now here’s a full-circle moment worth turning up for. Blondie are officially back with High Noon, their long-awaited 12th studio album and first collection of new material in nine years, arriving February 26, 2027 via BMG.

Leading the whole thing is “Spectral Eyes,” a song with a particularly tangled Blondie history: Johnny Marr originally wrote it for the band, then released his own version years before Blondie’s recording finally made its way back home. The full Blondie recording made its worldwide debut on BBC Radio 2 on Wednesday, October 14, at 7:30 a.m. British Summer Time — Tuesday, October 13, at 11:30 p.m. for us in Los Angeles — and it is now available to hear in full. Blondie: High Noon

The next Blondie era has officially arrived.

High Noon lands February 26, 2027, with Spectral Eyes opening a 13-track set that pulls punk, rock, dance and Latin influences into the same room.

According to Blondie, High Noon once again opens the door to the band’s famously unruly mix of sounds. Rock & roll and punk sit beside dance music and Latin rhythms, with contributions from Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius woven throughout.

High Noon also arrives with a deeper weight. It will be the final Blondie studio album to feature longtime drummer Clem Burke, who died on April 6, 2025, at age 70 following a private battle with cancer. Burke completed his work on the record before his death, and Debbie Harry has said he played on every track. That makes High Noon a posthumous final Blondie release featuring the drummer the band called its “heartbeat.”

The announcement also gives us our first proper look at the stylish new High Noon cover: a faux vintage New York newspaper front page dated Friday, February 26, 2027, with the band gathered inside a lived-in backstage-style office space while Debbie Harry cuts through the center in a glossy red coat. The oversized BLONDIE / HIGH NOON masthead, newsprint texture and downtown grit make the whole thing feel less like standard album packaging and more like a piece of Blondie-world ephemera. Very Blondie. Very New York.

“This album is classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new. This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”

Debbie Harry

Harry says the music also feels grounded in the present and shaped by who the band are now. Chris Stein, meanwhile, sounds characteristically amazed that after the long, strange ride, Blondie are still here making another album at all.

The Johnny Marr Connection Comes Back Around

Here’s where things get especially interesting. Marr had already contributed “My Monster” to Blondie’s 2017 album Pollinator when he wrote “Spectral Eyes” with the group in mind. He ultimately released his own recording in 2018 as the B-side to “Spiral Cities.” Now Blondie’s version is officially out, turning a song that once slipped away from them into the opening statement for an entirely new album cycle.

Marr’s take has those unmistakable fingerprints: bright guitar jangle, wiry hooks and shimmering edges. Blondie’s version gives the song another life under Debbie Harry’s voice and the band’s own instincts, which makes the whole thing feel less like a cover and more like unfinished business finally circling home.

High Noon Runs 13 Tracks Deep

The new album opens with “Spectral Eyes” and continues through “Heartbreak Kid,” “Come Back Home,” “Tambo Tambo,” “Man Who Had No Face,” “The End,” “Little Metal Drummer,” “Sleepwalking,” “Whistle Into The Wind,” “Antifreeze,” “East of Eden,” “Bad Underwear” and closer “Ah, Sunflower, Weary of Time.”

Even the titles feel properly Blondie: glamorous, odd, funny in places and impossible to pin down before hearing a note. The official store is also offering limited-edition red vinyl, cassette editions and merchandise bundles tied to the release.

Could Debbie Harry and Blondie Hit the Road Again?

There’s also the question fans are bound to ask: will Blondie tour or otherwise promote High Noon as a group? No tour has been announced with the album reveal, so for now the live side of this era remains an open question.

Still, with musicians from Blondie’s more recent lineup remaining active, we’re holding out hope Debbie might just jaunt around with the band for a few shows or special appearances. It doesn’t have to be a massive world tour to be something special. Even a handful of dates would be a thrill. Until there’s an official announcement, though, consider that wishful thinking from longtime fans — not a tour tip.

For now, there is plenty to dig into: a new single with a wonderfully tangled history, a full 13-song album on the calendar and Blondie once again doing what they have always done best — dragging every influence they love into the room and making it sound like nobody else.
