D23 2026 Is Here — and Disney Is Opening Up the Vault

Disney people, assemble. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event officially kicks off today in Anaheim, California, and Good Morning America is giving us a look at what fans can expect before the weekend really gets moving.
Running August 14 through 16, this year’s D23 spreads across the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center with movie and television sneak peeks, immersive experiences, Disney history, exclusive merchandise, celebrity appearances and plenty of announcements still waiting to be unleashed.

Disney is calling it the largest show floor in D23 history, with more than 50 panels and shows alongside immersive pavilions and first-look experiences from Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, Disney Animation, Disney+, Hulu and the Walt Disney Archives.
Movie Sneak Peeks, Disney History and One Giant Imagineering Pavilion
In GMA’s preview, Disney Chief Marketing and Brand Officer Asad Ayaz teases upcoming films and shows, unannounced characters and plenty of behind-the-scenes material hiding across the convention floor.
Fans can get close to props and memorabilia from titles including The Devil Wears Prada, Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Hannah Montana, while Pixar’s pavilion digs into storyboards, original artwork and the studio’s 40-year history.
And for the park people, Disney says its Imagineering: Horizons pavilion is the largest Imagineering presence ever built for D23, with working models and previews of projects headed to Disney parks around the world — including the new Piston Peak Cars area coming to Magic Kingdom.
The big Honda Center showcases are also back: the Disney Entertainment Showcase lands Friday night, the Disney Experiences Showcase follows Saturday, and the Disney Legends Award Ceremony closes things out Sunday.
