“Violent Night 2” Official Trailer Stars David Harbour and Kristen Bell

Santa Lost His Christmas Spirit, but Mrs. Claus Brought Backup

It is an early deck-the-halls alert. David Harbour is back as the most bruised, battered and battle-ready Santa Claus in town, and the official Violent Night 2 trailer has arrived with Kristen Bell joining the holiday mayhem as Mrs. Claus.

The sequel finds Saint Nick in a worse place than usual: he has forgotten the true meaning of Christmas, landed on his own Naughty List and lost the magic that normally gives him a very unfair advantage over armed criminals.

Unfortunately for Santa, the bad guys did not schedule their attack around his festive identity crisis. A ruthless gangster has taken over the Silver Bell Mall, leaving Harbour’s suddenly mortal Claus to rediscover his purpose while doing what this franchise does best—turning holiday decorations into deeply regrettable choices for villains.

Santa Is on the Naughty List—and His Powers Are Gone

The first Violent Night established Harbour’s Santa as an exhausted former warrior whose centuries of Christmas duty had left him cynical but not completely hollow. The new trailer pushes that crisis further by stripping away his supernatural edge.

He is working inside a shopping mall, questioning his own behavior and discovering that punching people hurts considerably more when Christmas magic is no longer absorbing the consequences.

Santa Claus has become a mall Santa, and even he appears offended by the demotion.

The setup lets the sequel keep the first film’s bruising action while changing the rules. Harbour’s Santa still has the old Viking instincts, but this time every fight requires more desperation, creativity and immediate concern over whether that hand was supposed to bend that way.

The Silver Bell Mall Has Its Own Ruthless Christmas Boss

Jared Harris steps into villain territory as the gangster terrorizing the merchants of the crumbling Silver Bell Mall. His operation leaves Santa stranded, cut off from the North Pole and forced to protect a community that still needs somebody to believe in.

The trailer promises the franchise’s preferred form of seasonal problem-solving: floor-keyboard fights, gingerbread-cookie weaponry and a mall full of objects that should never be placed within reach of an angry former warrior.

The supporting cast also includes Daniela Melchior, Joe Pantoliano, Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, with the latter appearing ready to contribute his professional-wrestling résumé to the holiday damage.

Kristen Bell’s Mrs. Claus Is Not Arriving to Bake Cookies

The trailer’s biggest new ingredient is Kristen Bell as Mrs. Claus, introduced not as a worried spouse waiting at the North Pole but as the last-minute reinforcement every badly outnumbered Santa deserves.

Her arrival expands the mythology teased around the first film and gives Harbour’s Santa a partner who appears fully capable of matching his particular blend of marital devotion and festive combat.

Miss funny and super-talented lady Kristen Bell came to support her man—and apparently remove several of his problems from the premises.

The Original Team Returns for Another R-Rated Christmas

Director Tommy Wirkola returns for the sequel, reuniting with original screenwriters Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are also back through 87North, the action banner behind the first film.

The sequel is rated R for strong bloody violence and language, confirming that nobody has asked this Santa to become gentler, quieter or remotely appropriate for the children’s holiday aisle.

Violent Night 2 opens exclusively in theaters on December 4, 2026. A streaming release has not yet been announced.
