Mother Nature Said Not Today In North Miami

Mother Nature is not playing with these human earthlings today. A wild piece of surveillance video out of North Miami shows lightning striking a tree moments before it came crashing down onto a moving Range Rover.
The incident happened Friday morning near North Miami Avenue and Northeast 125th Street, where first responders say a man was injured after the tree split and fell into the SUV’s path. Local reports said medics rushed him to a trauma center, with authorities later indicating he was expected to recover.

Storm-Day Essentials Before The Sky Gets Dramatic
When lightning starts acting brand new, a little prep goes a long way. Check the official safety guidance, keep an emergency kit nearby, and let thee weather do its tantrum from a safe distance.

And the timing? Absolutely cinematic in the most terrifying way. Video from the scene shows the bolt hit, the tree snap, and the vehicle roll into the exact wrong place at the exact wrong second. Not a movie stunt. Not a weather-channel reenactment. Just South Florida storm season being thee most extra character on the block.
First responders arrived to find the vehicle badly damaged, with crews working through the mess of tree limbs and crushed metal to reach the driver. It is the kind of clip that makes you side-eye every thunderstorm, every swaying palm, and every “quick drive” during severe weather.

The big lesson, besides “Florida weather will humble everybody,” is simple: when lightning is close, get inside and stay away from trees, open areas, and exposed roadways when possible. Because apparently the sky had plans, the tree had no chill, and that Range Rover was just trying to pass through.
