One Lush Groove, a Little Sass, and Our Girl Ashe Live

Rising singer, Ashe, is back to serve up her lush new single “Another Man’s Jeans,” this time in a live performance for Vevo. We already knew the tune was a smokin’ little number, but hearing her take it on outside the official music video gives the whole thing another delicious jolt. Pretty much, kiddas.
It’s an amazing song. Amazing artist. Amazing person. Amazing everything. Omg, we can’t stop. This tune is randy, babies. And the best part? It actually holds up when it’s her voice and the performance taking center stage, no elaborate music-video storyline required.
Released earlier this month on March 3, 2022 through Mom+Pop Music, “Another Man’s Jeans” is Ashe’s first new material since her 2021 debut album, Ashlyn. That record gave us the aching, introspective side of the singer-songwriter; this single catches her in a much more mischievous mood. There’s a little guitar bite, bright handclaps and a punchy horn-led lift that practically demands you move something. It’s pop with its hair down.

Same Smokin’ Song, a Whole Different Performance
What we adore about this Vevo session is the change of focus. Jason Lester’s official “Another Man’s Jeans” video is a full-color getaway, but here the point is to hear Ashe inhabit the song. She can make a line sound flirtatious, then turn right around and give its hook that wonderful, full-throated personality. That’s the mark of a singer who’s more than just a very good record.
The song itself is a playful conversation with a former flame, but it isn’t about dragging the old arguments back out for one more spin. It wants the good memories, a little fun and none of the baggage. Ashe described it as a song about unashamed confidence and not taking life too seriously—and this live take suits that spirit just fine.

The Vevo Crew — and That Fringe Jacket
The original performance credits include Austin Prahl as director, Kevin Rose as editor and Skyler Brown as director of photography, with Gabby Prisciandaro and David McTiernan credited for music and talent. It’s a proper little production that keeps the attention exactly where we want it: on Ashe.
And because we notice the clothes, too: the styling credits call out a fringe jacket from Pinko and a beige top from Anna Quan. A little swagger never hurt an already fabulous pop tune. Ashe knows how to make a look and a hook work together.
A few more moments from the same Vevo session capture Ashe in her element. The studio performance is a fine reminder that this song has more than enough character without the full music-video spectacle.

Her debut album Ashlyn is out now, and she’s preparing to take her music back on the road with The Fault Line Tour. Los Angeles gets a visit at The Fonda Theatre on April 11 and 12. We can’t wait to hear this one on talk shows, at award events and, hopefully, even in person live. The possibilities are giving us far too much to look forward to.
We also shared the excitement over on INYIM Media’s Instagram. The original post is still part of the moment; the music, naturally, is the reason to stick around.
So get yourself into the mood for a little lush, groovy, full-volume Ashe. This is one of those performances that makes us want to hit replay before the song is even finished.
