Last Christmas, Céline Dion Stole The Show As The Grinch

November 1 means we are officially allowed to start looking toward Christmas — and this one deserves to come back out of the INYIM holiday vault.
Last Christmas, Céline Dion did not merely put on a festive sweater and call it a season. The Canadian icon went full Grinch, transforming herself into the green menace made famous onscreen by fellow Canadian Jim Carrey in the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The video originally landed on Dion’s Instagram on Christmas Eve 2025, with Céline seated by a fireplace in green makeup, fur and a Santa suit — plus a dog dressed in a Max-inspired antler look. It was ridiculous, committed and exactly the kind of holiday chaos we would like more celebrities to bring to the table.

Céline Turned “All By Myself” Into A Grinch Anthem
Because simply looking like the Grinch was apparently not enough, Dion opened the bit by singing part of “All by Myself” in character. Her version of the Eric Carmen song became one of the defining ballads of her 1996 album Falling Into You, so repurposing it for a character whose whole brand is isolation was frankly inspired.
Then came her riff on the Grinch’s famously overloaded schedule from the movie. Dion worked through her own version of the monologue, tossing in vocal exercises, waking her children, Jazzercise, creative ideas and endless TikTok scrolling before arriving at the inevitable conclusion: she was booked.

One Canadian Icon Channeling Another Was Perfect Holiday Nonsense
Part of the joke worked because Dion was leaning into Jim Carrey’s famously maximal 2000 performance rather than doing a generic Grinch impression. One Canadian superstar channeling another, with “All by Myself” thrown into the middle, feels almost suspiciously designed for the INYIM holiday archive.
Dion captioned the original post, “Silent night? Not on my watch…” — which may be the most accurate possible summary of the entire production.
So before the 2026 holiday season gets completely out of hand, consider this your reminder that Céline already set an extremely green standard for celebrity Christmas content last year.
