Zara Larsson is this year’s most definite underrated pop songbird. Not a terror Miss Zara is unfamiliar with.

This is her official third single off the upcoming album. In the visual aesthetics, you see her bright and bold essence—a concept and image. A modern-day camp short film that every pop star inevitably accomplishes in a self-deprecating, joyous, fun manner.

Directed by Grant James Thomas, the “Crush” video is a masterclass in emotional storytelling through movement. Zara chases a pesky creature—a metaphor for forbidden love—across surreal, stylized sets. The choreography is bold, playful, and deeply expressive, capturing the tension between fantasy and reality. Every frame is saturated with color and intention, echoing the song’s theme of longing and restraint. Zara’s performance is magnetic: she’s not just dancing, she’s narrating.

We’re constantly so impressed by Zara. She is not playing in this era. Not that she has in the past either. Each single thus far has been a slammer hit. You’re getting storylines, world-building, choreography, personality—all of it. Like any genuine pop megastar born with that IT factor.

Zara continues to grind, perfecting her craft and that voice. Let’s not even get started on that range and pitch of hers. A juggernaut vocal supernatural force.

All we know is—we shall be streaming the Midnight Sun album when it drops September 28.

But wait, there’s more: Zara recently sat down with Etalk, Canada’s #1 daily entertainment show, to talk about sharing the stage with “Canadian Queen” Tate McRae, the real-life inspiration behind the Midnight Sun title track, and what she’s still waiting for in her career. She opened up about the pressure to live outside the phone screen and her hopes for the next chapter of her artistry2.

Are you feeling this era as much as we are? Drop your thoughts in the comments—let’s talk Zara, visuals, vocals, and everything in between.
