Nicole Kidman shared on IG socials, declaring to the world:
“The witches are back. Owens sisters’ first day on set! #PracticalMagic”
Whoo-hoo! The witches have indeed returned to us.
While Sandra yelps in the background,
“Turns out, we have a lot of work to do.”
In case you care bears need a dove refresher: Nicole and Bullock starred as Sally and Gillian Owens, a duo of spicy, saucy witches plagued by a family curse that kills the men they fall in love with.
The original 1998 film, helmed by Griffin Dunne, still holds a special place in our hearts. We here at INYIM Media can still remember the day we asked that movie ticket person at the front, “One ticket, please!” What was conjured up within our film soul became a purely healthy obsession with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. The kind of obsession where, whenever you see either name on a ticket—you’re there, watching, with treats and snacks in tow.
Practical Magic 2 will be helmed by Susanne Bier, who previously worked with both ladies—Bullock in Netflix’s pandemic-era breakout Bird Box, and Kidman in the tantalizing drama The Perfect Couple.
OGs Dianne Wiest and one of our faves, Stockard Channing, are set to reprise their roles as the iconic Owens aunts. Fresh additions to the cast include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.
Practical Magic 2 shall be out Sept. 18, 2026.
