French police recovered have now recovered the head piece of the lead singer of The Doors, from his grave at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.

37 years after it was stolen. It, was found during an unrelated police search.

The bust, which had been missing since 1988, was discovered by the Paris prosecutor’s office during a search related to a fraud case. News reports say that the bust was found heavily graffitied.

While it was stolen in 1988, some speculate that the cemetery may have removed the bust to protect it from further damage. It was a popular destination for fans, and its theft led to speculation about its whereabouts and possible removal by authorities.
