“It’s official Giles Deacon is in at Ungaro. Giles marks the fifth designer for the troubled house in as many years, following Giambattista Valli, Peter Dundas, Vincent Darre, Esteban Cortazar and then Lindsay and Estrella. Asim Abdullah, Ungaro’s owner, hopes to make the label sustainable (and profitable) by 2011.
After the mess that left Ungaro’s rep a little tainted, it’s stellar to see Giles step in and clean up the company’s previous choices.
