When Two INYIM Media Inspirations Collide: Michelle Williams To Narrate Britney Spears‘ Memoir ‘The Woman in Me’ Out Oct. 24.

"Michelle Williams has been tapped to narrate the audio version of Britney Spears‘ tell-all memoir The Woman in Me.

Spears will read the book’s introduction before passing it over to The Fabelmans star.

“This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it,” the Baby One More Time singer said in a statement. “Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook. I am so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest of it.”

The five-time Oscar-nominated actress said, “I stand with Britney.”

This is the first audiobook Williams, who has starred in Manchester by the Sea, My Week with Marilyn, Blue Valentine and Fosse/Verdon, has narrated.

The Woman in Me, which was written with “candor and humor” is described as a “brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope.” It also “illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.”

In the book, Spears discusses her 13-year conservatorship and how the case impacted her personally and publicly. In November 2021, a Los Angeles County judge ruled to terminate the conservatorship after the singer testified in court months prior that it was abusive and that it was her “wish and my dream for this to end.”

The memoir, which was previously reported to be worth as much as $15 million, was acquired by Gallery Books following a bidding war involving several publishers.

The Woman in Me will hit bookshelves on Oct. 24." - Hollywoodreporter.com
