Flash Back Friday celebrates Mariah Carey sharing astronomical vocal warm-up circa her debut record era!
"Mariah Carey is celebrating 30 years since her self-titled debut album this year, and took to Twitter on Thursday (July 23) to share an iconic throwback video.
The one-minute clip shows a 20-year-old Mariah with her back-up singers in 1990 before the album release, warming up their vocals by delivering a stunningly harmonized rendition of the young chanteuse's "All In Your Mind." The vocal session ends with Carey showing off her famous whistle tones.
"Warming up for the #MC30 'debut' week," Carey captioned the post. "sending love to Treymond, Patrick and the late Billy T. Scott."
Last week, Carey teased plans to celebrate her debut album's 30th anniversary with an Instagram video, which features a montage of music video clips, album artwork, live performances and more as the iconic opening riff from 1995's Ol' Dirty Bastard-assisted "Fantasy" remix plays in the background.
Mariah Carey was released on June 12 1990, and delivered four consecutive No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 including "Vision of Love," "Love Takes Time," "Someday" and "I Don't Want to Cry." The album went on to spend 11 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified nine-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America." - Billboard.com
