Five Hundred Years Married And Somehow The In-Laws Are Still The Problem
You’ve seen the clips and glimpses. Now CBS is giving us thee fuller look at Eternally Yours, the new supernatural family comedy premiering Thursday, October 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT as part of CBS’s fall premiere week.
The half-hour series comes from Ghosts creators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, which already tells you the assignment: take something supernatural, drop it into everyday domestic life and let the ridiculousness expose how human everybody really is.

Charles And Liz Have Survived 500 Years. Romance Has Not.
Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards star as Charles and Liz, a vampire couple living in present-day Seattle whose once-passionate romance has gone decidedly pulseless after 500 years of marriage.
They are not exactly breaking up — eternity makes that complicated — but they have settled into the kind of relationship rut where “forever” starts sounding less romantic and more like a legally binding threat.
Then Their Daughter Brings Home A Human
The immortal status quo gets rattled when their daughter Emma, played by Helen J Shen, introduces the family to her very mortal boyfriend Max, played by Jaren Lewison.
Max is earnest, alive and very much not part of the vampire plan. Suddenly Charles and Liz are forced to deal with the one thing centuries together apparently did not prepare them for: their daughter dating somebody they may eventually outlive by several hundred years.
The Ghosts Team Clearly Was Not Finished With The Undead
Port and Wiseman created and executive produce the series after turning Ghosts into one of CBS’s biggest comedy successes. Trent O’Donnell, who directed the Ghosts pilot, directed and executive produced the Eternally Yours pilot.
But CBS is keeping the worlds separate. Eternally Yours is not a Ghosts spinoff; it simply shares the creative team’s gift for finding very ordinary relationship problems inside wildly supernatural circumstances.
There Is A Whole Coven Waiting To Complicate Things
The regular cast also includes Parker Young as Jesse, Rose Abdoo as Phyllis, Tristan Michael Brown as Mort and Shylo Molina as Henry, filling out the oddball coven around Charles, Liz, Emma and Max.
The setup gives the show plenty to play with beyond vampire jokes. It is about marriage after the honeymoon is not merely over but several centuries dead, parents learning to let an adult daughter make her own choices and the terrifying realization that sometimes the outsider entering a family is the person who makes everyone inside it finally look at themselves.
Eternally Yours lands between Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Elsbeth on CBS’s Thursday lineup, which is a very specific kind of network confidence. New episodes will also stream on Paramount+: live with the Premium plan and on demand the following day for Essential subscribers.
And judging by the setup, this family has bigger problems than garlic.
