R&B royalty and princess of entertainment Mýa has officially unleashed a mid-summer visual built from roller-rink color, California sunshine and the kind of funk that refuses to sit still. Her new music video for “Give It to You” featuring D-Nice turns the opening track from Retrospect into one delectable retro daydream.
The track opens Mýa’s 10th studio album and first full-length release in eight years. Mýa describes the visual recipe as a little Beat Street, a little Vanity 6, some Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam and plenty of campy fun in the California sun. That mixture lands immediately: bold primary colors, vintage cars, choreographed street energy and fashion that treats subtlety like an unwanted plus-one.
D-Nice helps set the time machine for the album mix, but the frame belongs completely to Mýa. Her movement remains exact without ever appearing labored, and the camera understands that every hair flip, pose and tiny facial switch is part of the performance.
