A Simple Rehab Run Turns Into A Full-Scale Disaster
Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are absolutely not the professionals anyone should hire for a delicate rehab transport. Unfortunately for everybody involved, that is exactly the job handed to their characters in Idiots, the new road comedy that turns one supposedly straightforward drive into a rapidly multiplying pile of bad decisions.
The pair play two down-on-their-luck drivers tasked with delivering a wealthy and deeply unpredictable teenager, played by Mason Thames, to a treatment facility. The trailer wastes very little time proving that the assignment is already doomed: the teen derails the plan, danger starts circling, and the trip barrels into criminals, wreckage and the kind of mayhem that makes “unqualified bozos” sound almost generous.

Macon Blair wrote, directed and produced the film, building its comedy around Franco and Jackson Jr.’s chemistry rather than treating the road trip like a one-joke detour. Peter Dinklage, Kiernan Shipka, Nicholas Braun, Killer Mike and Blair himself help populate the increasingly unhinged stops along the way.
The movie first premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival under its more aggressively blunt original title, The Shitheads. Now retitled Idiots for its theatrical run, the comedy keeps the same grubby, high-speed energy while making the marquee slightly easier to print.
The trailer’s best weapon is the collision of personalities. Franco leans into effortless bad judgment, Jackson Jr. gives the chaos a more anxious and grounded counterweight, and Thames plays the rich teen like a human emergency alarm who keeps finding new ways to make the route worse.
The Idiots Poster And Road-Trip Chaos
The official poster and film imagery introduce a comedy where nobody looks qualified, everybody looks trapped, and the destination may be the least dangerous part of the trip.

Between the bruised expressions, roadside grime and a poster that practically announces impending property damage, the campaign knows exactly what it is selling: three men in one vehicle, none of whom should be trusted with the map.
