“Boys Next Door” Makes Menswear Feel Playful, Intimate and Slightly Mischievous

Twosome models Philip Lach de Bère and Alberto Perazzolo are bringing a whole lot more than “stand there and look handsome” energy to Boys Next Door.

The editorial, originally published by The Rakish Gent in August 2023, was photographed by Vinyet Feliubadaló and pairs relaxed menswear with painterly artwork, domestic spaces and a mood that feels somewhere between fashion story, house party and two very stylish neighbors who definitely know the camera is watching.

And yes, the chemistry is doing plenty of the work.

Vinyet Feliubadaló Shoots It Like a Fashion Story You Can Walk Into

The big appeal of Boys Next Door is how little it feels like a stiff fashion exercise. Feliubadaló’s photographs give the editorial a lived-in quality, while the artwork of Juan Bertoni adds another layer of color and visual play around the models.

That looseness is deceptive, because the creative team is very specific. Laia Matas Largo handled styling, Sara Juan handled grooming and Quico Calabuig handled casting, with both Philip and Alberto represented by Sight Management.

The Wardrobe Mixes Big Labels With Everyday Cool

The wardrobe runs through a mix of familiar fashion names rather than locking itself into one house. Credits across the full editorial include Polo Ralph Lauren, BOSS, Tommy Hilfiger, Zadig & Voltaire, Urban Outfitters, Mango Man, Uniqlo, Pucci, Rolex and Paraiso.

That mix is part of why the story works. It is styled, obviously, but it never feels like the clothes are shouting over the models. The clothes establish the character, then Philip and Alberto get to take it from there.

The result lands in that sweet spot between polished and casual — enough fashion to make the images worth studying, but enough ease that the whole thing still feels human.

Philip and Alberto Already Know How to Sell a Duo Story

The pairing is especially natural because this was not the first time Philip and Alberto had occupied the same fashion universe. They had previously appeared together in campaigns including Massimo Dutti’s “Our Cities” editorial and Eton’s Holiday 2022 campaign.

That familiarity shows. Boys Next Door does not need to manufacture chemistry between them because the two already understand how to share a frame without turning the image into a competition.

It is very much a twosome story: different looks, different presence, same visual rhythm.
