2night we’re boots on grassroots! So you know what that means: INYIM is leaving the desk, hitting the pavement and going LIVE on location to catch all thee razzle-dazzle commotion as it happens.
Tonight’s beautifully last-minute detour has La Roux taking over The Loft at Catch One for a free pop-up DJ set in Los Angeles. Entry is first come, first served, the night is 21+, and the room sits inside Catch One at 4067 W. Pico Boulevard.
There is one very L.A. nightlife wrinkle: the public event listing points to 9 p.m., while promotional posts point to 10 p.m. Translation? Arrive early, look alive and do not let the velvet-rope gods decide your fate.
Elly Jackson is already in town for La Roux’s Kia Forum dates with Hilary Duff, but instead of calling it a night, she is slipping into a smaller room for something looser, louder and much closer to the floor. That is exactly the kind of pop-up pulse we chase.
She also arrives with “Babyline”, the synth-lit single released June 26 and the latest preview of La Roux’s fourth album, Old Flames, due November 6. Per her own words: “Babyline, single out now.”
