Apple TV has unleashed the Season 4 teaser, “Together,” and it feels mighty good to see Ted, Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, Coach Beard and the Richmond family back in formation.
Ted Lasso returns Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with one new episode before settling into a weekly Wednesday rollout through October 7. The fourth season contains 10 episodes, meaning Apple is not dumping the whole emotional support biscuit box on us at once. We will be processing feelings on schedule.

Ted’s Biggest Challenge Yet Comes With An Entirely New Pitch
Season 4 sends Ted back to Richmond, but not simply to restart the same match. This time, he takes charge of a second-division women’s football team, giving the series a fresh locker room, a different competitive landscape and a new group of players who may or may not be prepared for inspirational signage and aggressively wholesome metaphors.
The official setup says Ted and the team will learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never imagined attempting. That sounds suspiciously like the show’s familiar “believe first, panic privately later” philosophy—only now the stakes belong to a team fighting to establish its own identity.
It is a smart way to reopen the story. Rather than pretending the Season 3 ending never happened, the new chapter can keep Richmond’s emotional home base while forcing Ted to build trust from the ground up all over again.
The Richmond Family Is Back, But Nobody Gets To Stand Still
Jason Sudeikis returns alongside Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, bringing Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, Coach Beard and Higgins back into Ted’s orbit.
Season 4 also introduces Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely. The expanded cast gives the series enough new personalities to create friction without tossing away the relationships viewers spent three seasons becoming emotionally attached to against their will.
Because let us be honest: nobody watches Ted Lasso only for the football. We arrive for the matches, then suddenly find ourselves deeply concerned about a grumpy man’s emotional vocabulary, a club owner’s self-worth and whether everyone remembered to communicate before creating an entirely avoidable crisis.
Together Knows Exactly Which Emotional Button To Press
The teaser does not need to reveal every plot turn. Its job is simpler: remind viewers how it feels when these characters occupy the same room. Familiar faces, quick flashes of the new team and the word “Together” do most of the lifting.
After three seasons built around loneliness, ambition, failure, forgiveness and the extremely British refusal to say what anybody is actually feeling, togetherness remains the show’s real championship trophy.
Ted is back. Richmond is changing. Roy Kent is presumably still allergic to unnecessary joy. We are seated.
