Italian model Stefano Tomadini stars in Joey Leo’s saturated, sculptural Shifting Colours editorial for Numéro Netherlands.

Stefano Tomadini is looking less like a mortal man and more like somebody Joey Leo carved out of light for Shifting Colours, the pair’s bold new editorial for Numéro Netherlands.

Photographed and creatively directed by Joey Leo, the series plays saturated color against Tomadini’s sculptural frame, shifting between strength, sensuality and quieter moments without turning the whole thing into one long flex-off. Although, let us be clear, thee flex is very much present.

Joey Leo turns saturated light into part of the wardrobe as Stefano Tomadini fronts a sharp Numéro Netherlands editorial styled with MODUS VIVENDI, MANGO and minimalist pieces.

The concept is simple but effective: color becomes part of the styling. Blues, reds and purples wash across Tomadini while the clothes stay comparatively restrained, letting the lighting reshape each portrait from frame to frame.

Stefanos Kapsalis handles styling, with the published wardrobe credits including MODUS VIVENDI, MANGO and stylist-owned pieces. Tomadini is credited by the magazine with Soul Artist Management.

And Mr. Tomadini is not exactly arriving without credentials. The Italian model has stacked editorial and runway work across the international menswear circuit, with recent credits spanning Numéro Netherlands, Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana, while continuing to work across several major modeling markets.

But this Joey Leo collaboration works because it does not try to bury him under concept. The drama comes from the light, the body language and the way each color shift changes the mood. Strong when it wants to be. Soft when it needs to be. Smoking regardless.

If menswear photography is going to be dramatic, this is the kind we like: one handsome subject, one photographer who knows exactly how to use him, and enough color to make the whole thing look radioactive in the best possible way.
