A New Era of Fan‑First Ticketing

Spotify is once again in its innovation bag, getting ready to unravel a brand‑new feature aimed at making the concert ticket chase a little less chaotic — and a lot more fan‑focused.
The platform will begin reserving gig tickets for listeners, using streams and shares to determine an artist’s most dedicated fans. Those fans will get first access to a small batch of tickets set aside just for them.
This all comes through a multiyear partnership with Live Nation, kicking off this Summer.
Spotify’s goal is simple: help artists get tickets directly into the hands of the people who actually support them — not bots, not resellers, not random refresh‑warriors.
Unveiled during the company’s investor day, the new “Reserved” feature will roll out to Premium subscribers, giving them a smoother, more predictable path to the shows they care about most.
Spotify put it plainly:
“Getting concert tickets today can feel like a race you’re set up to lose. You show up at the right time, refresh endlessly, and still miss out. Too often, the experience is stressful, unpredictable, and disconnected from what should matter most: whether real fans actually get tickets. We think there’s a better way.”
And honestly… they’re not wrong.
