Bass! Saxophone! Attitude! Wild Belle’s “Rocksteady” is thee kind of record that enters the room already moving its hips.
The sibling duo of Natalie and Elliot Bergman built their sound by refusing to respect neat genre borders, and “Rocksteady” is a particularly delicious example: reggae-rooted rhythm, dub atmosphere, indie-pop nerve and Elliot’s unmistakable baritone saxophone all pushing in the same direction.
Released in 2019, the track opens Wild Belle’s third album, Everybody One of a Kind. It also arrived as the record’s third single, following “Mockingbird” and “Have You Both.”

“Rocksteady” Opens The Album With A Full-Body Strut
Natalie Bergman delivers the song with the loose confidence of someone who already knows the groove has won. Around her, the production stays thick without becoming crowded: low-end pulse, brass punctuation and rhythms that feel equally at home in a hazy club or spilling out of an open car window.
That combination has always been central to Wild Belle. Natalie’s voice, Elliot’s saxophone and a reggae-rooted rhythm form the group’s musical triangle, but “Rocksteady” pushes all three into especially vivid focus.
Alan Del Rio Turns The Track Into A Colorful Dance-Floor Fantasy
Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz, the music video puts Natalie at the center of a stylized party populated by dancers, bold movement and a visual palette as unruly as the song itself.
The imagery does not overcomplicate the assignment. “Rocksteady” is made to move bodies, and the video lets rhythm, fashion and personality carry the action.
Everybody One of a Kind found Wild Belle releasing music independently through their own Love Tone label, sounding freer, stranger and even more willing to chase whatever groove appeared next.
