SF1OG Turned ‘Suspiria’ Into A Berlin Runway Spell

SF1OG’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection turns Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria, ritual energy, punk tension, and Berlin Fashion Week drama into a runway spell with beauty, unease, and sharp little teeth.

SF1OG let the spell enter the gymnasium for Spring/Summer 2027, bringing a collection shaped by ritual, power, conformity, and that gorgeous little fashion ache between attraction and discomfort.

The Berlin-based brand’s SS27 story pulls from Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria (2018), where dance, beauty, control, and hidden authority all keep brushing against each other like trouble in a silk slip. The result is not a literal horror costume parade, thankfully. It is more unsettling than that — a runway mood where softness has teeth, repetition becomes a signal, and the pretty things are absolutely not behaving.

FY Magazine notes that the collection also nods to photographer Ari Versluis, whose work around near-identical dress codes brings in the language of conformity, sameness, and how society decides what looks “acceptable.” Add in traces of 1980s and 1990s rock and punk, plus religious dress and ceremonial cues, and SF1OG starts building a closet where innocence and menace are sharing a hanger.

The show took place at Carl Schumann Sports Hall in Charlottenburg during Berlin Fashion Week, with a soundtrack by Gavriel August drawing from the traditional Easter processions of Seville. Dramatic? Yes. But disciplined. Thee kind of drama that enters quietly, rearranges the room, and leaves everyone pretending they are not obsessed.

Visually, the collection leans into a tense little romance: lace, veils, ballet-flat delicacy, lean tailoring, grunge-coded knits, and silhouettes that feel both vulnerable and defiant. The strongest trick here is the push-pull. SF1OG does not treat “good” and “bad” like clean opposites. It lets them blur, seduce, and side-eye each other down the runway.

It is fashion as a beautiful warning sign: part punk memory, part ceremonial hush, part dance-floor possession, and fully aware that the sweetest-looking thing in the room may still be carrying the sharpest edge.
