On March 31, 1995, the world lost Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, a beloved Tejano music icon, at just 23 years old. Known as the “Queen of Tejano Music,”
Selena broke barriers in the music industry with her vibrant style and heartfelt songs like “Amor Prohibido” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” Her tragic death at the hands of her fan club president, shocked fans worldwide – including us at ages 10 & 15.
Despite her untimely passing, Selena’s legacy endures through her music, her influence on Latin culture, and the inspiration she continues to provide to generations of fans of EVERY race.
