Regina King Turns Judy Blume Into A New “Forever” Moment

Actor extraordinaire Regina King visited The Kelly Clarkson Show, and naturally the sit-down came with equal parts prestige-TV talk and daytime-game-show chaos.
Regina spilled on Netflix’s series adaptation of Judy Blume’s classic novel Forever…, this time reimagined through a fresh lens and, as the Kelly segment frames it, from a young man’s perspective.
And because Kelly’s couch cannot simply leave a living legend sitting there peacefully, Regina also faced off against Kelly Clarkson in a super-duper competition game of “Balls, Balls, Balls!” movie trivia.
Regina King stopped by Kelly’s show to talk Netflix’s Forever and then entered the wonderfully silly “Balls, Balls, Balls!” movie-trivia arena.

Netflix’s Forever comes from Mara Brock Akil, who reimagines Blume’s groundbreaking first-love story for a new generation. Regina serves as an executive producer and directs the first episode, which already tells you the series is not playing around with the emotional texture.
The show follows Keisha and Justin, two Black teens in Los Angeles, as they move through first love, identity, pressure, family and all the awkward, gorgeous confusion that comes with being someone’s capital-F first.
Basically: Judy Blume tenderness, Mara Brock Akil emotional polish and Regina King direction. That is a serious little creative triangle.
Regina King And Kelly Clarkson Go “Balls, Balls, Balls.”
The gallery captures Regina King and Kelly Clarkson’s movie-trivia face-off, where the energy swerves from polished interview to daytime-TV gym-class excellence.
The trivia game is exactly the kind of Kelly Clarkson Show chaos that makes sense on paper only after you have already watched it. Movie clues, flying balls, Regina King locked in and Kelly fully leaning into the nonsense.
There is something delightful about watching a performer with Regina’s gravitas step into something this silly and still give it full competitive dignity. An Oscar winner can still want the point.
Between the Forever conversation and the movie-trivia showdown, Regina’s visit gave the full daytime package: a little literature, a little Netflix, a little nostalgia and a lot of balls flying across the studio.
