The Queen Returns to the AMAs Stage Three Decades Later

Queen of all queens Queen Latifah has been officially tapped to host the upcoming American Music Awards — and it’s a full‑circle cultural moment. This marks a 30‑year return for the legend, who last appeared on the AMAs stage in the 1990s, previously serving as co‑host.
Latifah shared her excitement, saying:
“I am so excited to return to the American Music Awards stage to host this year. It’s been an incredible year for music and there is no better place to celebrate than in Vegas.”
The ceremony will air live on Monday, May 25, broadcasting via CBS, and landing right on Memorial Day from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
