Seven Models Turn “Hotter Than Others” Into a Full-On Menswear Mood

Carlo William Rossi knows exactly what kind of heat he wants in “Hotter Than Others.” The MMSCENE STYLE STORIES exclusive brings together Pietro Battarra, Andrea Aversano, Andrea De Luca, Mirko Caccavallo, Leonardo Castaldo, Nicola Russo and Davide Sannino of C-Models Crew for a menswear story built around confidence, closeness and a cast that actually feels like a cast.
Under the creative direction of Miriam Petrillo, the shoot takes its cue from the unapologetically masculine image-making associated with classic Bruce Weber campaigns, then pushes that reference through a sharper 2025 lens. The result is less imitation than attitude: bodies sharing space, tailoring beside underwear, outerwear beside bare skin, and enough variation in texture to keep the editorial from settling into one easy visual note.

The styling deserves its own credit line because there is much more going on here than denim and good genetics. Romolo Battista leads the styling, joined by second stylist Pasquale Improda and assistants Gennaro Amato and Danilo Canicchio, with grooming by Lucia Balzano. The wardrobe pulls from Marsem, Ferragamo, Tom Ford, Cartier, Maison Margiela, Diesel, Saints Studio, Antichita’ Petrone, Federico Firoldi, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang, Jacob Cohen, Noell Maggini, Moarno, KVRTT STVFF and Ray-Ban.
That mix is part of what gives the story its range. One frame can lean polished and tailored, another can strip things back to underwear, denim or a loose layer, and the next can push into accessories, jewelry or more directional silhouettes. The clothes are not fighting for attention; they are helping define the rhythm between the seven men.

The strongest thing about “Hotter Than Others,” though, is that Rossi does not treat the models as interchangeable bodies. Battarra, Aversano, De Luca, Caccavallo, Castaldo, Russo and Sannino each bring a slightly different energy into the frame, and the group shots benefit from that contrast. Some moments read cool and self-contained; others feel more playful, intimate or knowingly performative.
That is also why the Bruce Weber reference lands better here than it might on paper. MMSCENE specifically frames the story as inspired by Weber’s iconic campaigns, but Rossi and the team do not stop at nostalgia. The styling is more contemporary, the cast is more visibly varied in presentation, and the editorial feels aware of the history it is borrowing from without getting trapped inside it.
And yes, the title is doing exactly what it says on the tin. “Hotter Than Others” is not subtle, but neither is this kind of editorial supposed to be. The pleasure is in the excess: seven models, a packed wardrobe, sharp faces, soft moments and a photographer who understands that a menswear story can be polished without becoming sterile.

Rossi’s eye, Petrillo’s direction and Battista’s styling keep the story balanced between polished fashion image and something looser, warmer and more human. The seven-model lineup gives the editorial scale, but the chemistry is what makes it work.
