Palomo Turns Queer Cruising History Into A WorldPride Fashion Moment
Dig out Palomo bringing theatrical romance, queer history and a little cruise-through-the-garden energy to WorldPride Amsterdam. The Spanish fashion house is marking the global celebration with its first pop-up outside Spain and a collaboration with the Tom of Finland Foundation.
The temporary shop opens at Geldersekade 58 in Amsterdam from July 30 through August 4, 2026, placing Palomo’s unapologetically gender-fluid world directly inside one of the year’s largest international Pride gatherings.

The Collaboration Looks Beyond Tom Of Finland’s Bodies
Tom of Finland’s work is often reduced to muscles, leather and erotic provocation, but Alejandro Gómez Palomo is interested in something more intimate: the community forming between the men inside those drawings.
Many of Touko Laaksonen’s scenes unfold in parks, forests and public spaces where queer men watch, recognize and approach one another. Before LGBTQ+ life could exist openly, those locations became places of coded possibility—part meeting ground, part refuge and part stage.
Palomo takes that history and softens the mythology without making it timid. The collaboration’s accompanying editorial, photographed in black and white by Kees de Klein, emphasizes glances, proximity and tenderness rather than simply recreating the harder visual language commonly associated with cruising.
Physical Connection Becomes The Collection’s Real Fantasy
For Palomo, the collaboration is also a response to the flattened efficiency of modern dating culture. The designer has spoken about preferring the unpredictability of physical encounters over scrolling through people as though choosing from a catalog.
That idea fits naturally inside Palomo’s universe. Since launching the label in 2015, the designer has continually challenged traditional masculinity through lace, tailoring, dresses, exposed skin and silhouettes that treat being seen as its own form of pleasure.
The Palomo man would cruise, of course—but apparently through an impossibly beautiful garden while dressed better than everyone else. Romance, desire and theatricality remain inseparable.
Palomo Builds A Wider WorldPride Presence
The pop-up is only one part of Palomo’s Amsterdam program. The house is also marking the collaboration with a commemorative lunch, co-hosting the city’s legendary Blue drag performance night on July 30 and participating in talks organized with the Tom of Finland Foundation.
The foundation is additionally involved in WorldPride exhibitions across Amsterdam, including Fecund Ground at raam art space and Icons of Desire at Galerie de Schans. Together, the projects place Tom of Finland’s archive into conversation with contemporary artists, queer visibility and the ongoing fight for cultural freedom.
WorldPride offers Palomo exactly the crowd this collaboration deserves: international, expressive, politically alert and more than ready to turn historic queer codes into something visible in broad daylight.
